The Oregon Behavioral Health Loan Repayment Program (OBHLRP), part of the Health Care Provider Incentive Program, was created to help rural and underserved communities recruit and retain high-quality behavioral health providers.
The Oregon Health Care Provider Incentive Loan Repayment Program was established by the Oregon Legislature to support underserved communities in recruiting and retaining high-quality health care providers. These providers serve patients regardless of their insurance status (Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, etc.) or ability to pay.
In exchange for service at a qualifying practice site, participants receive funds to repay qualifying educational loan debt.
The State Loan Repayment Program (SLRP), funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), provides student loan repayment assistance to primary care providers working in outpatient settings at SLRP-qualifying practice sites. In exchange for their service, clinicians receive loan repayment support through the program.
Loan repayment programs not administered by the Office of Rural Health (ORH) may offer incentives to qualified providers working at qualified practice sites.
