Community Partnership Program Grantee Conference
Purpose
The OHSU Community Partnership Program Grantee Conference brings together grantees, key partners and academic collaborators from across Oregon who are dedicated to end cancer as we know it. During the conference, participants:
- Discuss strategies for addressing local community cancer issues
- Share best practices and challenges
- Identify opportunities for collaboration with fellow grantees

Registration has closed. All attendees (including grantees, Steering Committee, and OHSU staff) needed to register by August 13, 2025.
Required attendees
Participation was required for funding cycles 2024-2 and 2025-1:
The Knight Cancer Institute covered conference and accommodation costs for up to two representatives per active project in funding cycles 2024-2 and 2025-1. Each active project was required to register at least one representative with a key role in the operation of the grant. Participants were required to present about their project as part of a presentation or a poster.
Up to two participants per funded project were eligible to participate. Each participant should register separately, indicating their lodging and dietary preferences individually.

Previously funded or active grantees via a no-cost extension:
All current or previous Community Partnership Program grantees are invited to attend. If your project is no longer active and/or you are operating under a no-cost extension, your organization may attend, and your organization will be responsible for covering costs of accommodations and travel. However, accommodation expenses will be covered for grantees that present a poster or take part in a presentation. Please indicate your interest on the registration form.

Grantee presentations
Grantee posters and presentations
We encourage grantees to take advantage of this opportunity to share your project goals, progress, challenges and/or preliminary findings through a poster and/or presentation. The Knight Cancer Institute will provide training, resources and support.
- Posters: Some currently active grantees will be required to present a poster. Poster details will be sent separately. All other grantees are invited to present a poster to share your project, regardless of project status or completion. Knight Cancer Institute provides training on poster development, poster templates, printing and shipping.
- Presentations: Our team will contact you directly to plan your presentation.
Training and support for poster presentations
Webinar details will be sent to those grantees who are required to present a poster.
For past grantees, indicate your interest in presenting a poster on the registration form.
- Take part in the 90-minute training webinar on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at noon. Training title: How to Tell Your Story, Engage Audiences, and Make the Most Out of Your Poster by Jackie Wirz, Ph.D.
- Select a template to create your poster.
The Knight Cancer Institute will pay for printing posters and will transport them to the conference. Please take your poster after the event and share it with key stakeholders.

Costs, lodging, meals
Costs, lodging and meals
Required grantees, Steering Committee and OHSU staff*:
One night's room and tax charges will be paid by Knight Cancer Institute. The Knight Cancer Institute will fund up to two participants per project.
Previously funded grantees (all other grant cycles)*:
For previously funded grantees, room and tax charges are the responsibility of the participant. However, if selected to present your project, accommodations fees will be paid by Knight Cancer Institute. You will be notified of approval for presentation by July 15, 2024.
*All attendees are responsible for hotel room incidental charges and must present a credit card at check-in to access ancillary services.

We encourage all participants to arrive in good time before the conference begins to allow time for parking and checking in. Please plan travel accordingly. If needed, those staying in the hotel may contact the hotel directly to request early check-in, which will be provided at the hotel's discretion.

- Day 2: Breakfast, lunch, snacks and refreshments
On your registration form, please indicate any specific dietary needs and preferences.

Travel awards
Currently active grantees: A travel award to fund your transportation to/from the conference was included in your grant payment. Request additional compensation only if you can justify significant financial hardship. Requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Grantees from prior cycles: We will consider financial assistance requests on a case-by-case basis if facing financial hardship.
