Our Council
In the summer of 2020, the Department of Surgery built upon the foundational work of our original Diversity Committee by establishing the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Council. As of summer 2025, we have evolved into the Community Access and Engagement Council —a name that reflects our broadened focus and continued commitment to fostering a mission-driven, and forward-thinking environment.
The 3P Council is a multidisciplinary group comprised of physicians, fellows, advanced practice providers, residents, students, and administrative staff. Together, we work to cultivate a culture where every individual feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.
The Council's mission is to support OHSU and the Department of Surgery in fostering a culture of belonging, professionalism, and excellence. We aim to ensure that every patient, learner, and team member has the opportunity to thrive in an environment grounded in mutual respect and shared purpose.
