About me
I am an interventional pulmonologist who specializes in lung and trachea conditions.
I do minimally invasive procedures for lung cancer diagnosis and staging.
I'm also medical director of OHSU’s incidental lung nodule program and co-director of lung cancer screening. As such, I have special interest in finding lung cancer early.
I provide:
- Robotic navigation bronchoscopy, to diagnose lung nodules
- Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), to diagnose lung cancer and other conditions
- Therapeutic bronchoscopy, to treat blocked airways
- Ultrasound-guided thoracentesis, to diagnose or treat fluid buildup in the chest
- Tunneled pleural catheter placement, to treat fluid buildup in the chest
I spent six years as director of interventional pulmonology and lung cancer screening programs at the Richmond Veterans Administration Medical Center in Virginia. I joined OHSU in 2022.
It’s important to me to provide patients and families with empathy, expertise and reassurance at a stressful, vulnerable time. I enjoy working as part of a team with other specialists to provide high-quality care.
When my wife and I get a break from our busy work lives, we love to spend time with our four kids, enjoying beaches along the Oregon coast during summer. I also enjoy cooking at home, running, surfing and playing soccer and basketball with my son.

If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with OHSU providers, your out of pocket liability may be higher. Visit the billing and insurance section of our site for more information.
