Mike Van Wyngarden, PA-C (he/him)
- Instructor of OHSU Knight Cancer Institute, School of Medicine
Biography
I am an advanced practice provider with experience in treating hematologic malignancies, or, blood cancers and disorders. I work at OHSU’s Knight Cancer Institute and have a particular focus on multiple myeloma and related conditions like amyloidosis and plasma cell leukemia (PCL).
Some of the treatments I provide my patients include:
- Bone marrow biopsies
- Lumbar punctures
- Chemotherapy management and treatment plans (in coordination with the patient’s oncologist)
I previously worked in lab research and clinical trials focused on blood cancers, especially multiple myeloma. After graduating from PA school in 2022, I started my career in inpatient general surgery and trauma. In 2025, I returned to my true passion—hematology and oncology—where I can support patients through their cancer journey.
