Julia Vanderstreet joins CEDAR in the Moreau Lab as a Graduate Student Researcher in the Program of Biomedical Sciences. Prior to their move out to Portland, Julia spent four years working in RNA engineering at Moderna in Cambridge, Massachusetts. During this time she was focused on early discovery research to improve the efficacy and potency of RNA therapeutics. Back in May of 2021, Julia received her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, specializing in Tissue Engineering, from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Outside of research you can find them spending lots of time outdoors- skiing, hiking, surfing, backpacking, and camping- as well as playing with their new puppy Ruby.
