Daniel P. Werle, R.N., ACNP

  • Instructor of Surgery, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, School of Medicine

Biography

I am an acute care nurse practitioner who specializes in thoracic surgery, or chest surgery. I treat patients with conditions that involve the chest wall, esophagus, lungs and pleural space.

I was born in Manly, Iowa, where I spent much of my childhood.

My mom, a registered nurse, has played an important role in my life. I chose a career in nursing largely due to her influence.

I make an effort with each patient and family to meet them where they are, and work together to optimize care.

Outside of work, I enjoy being with my wife, dogs and our extended family. I enjoy taking part in off-road triathlons, cyclocross racing, gravel cycling, Nordic skiing, trail building and trail maintenance.
