Biography
Abdalrahman Alblwi (Abdul) joins CEDAR as a Postdoctoral Scholar after completing his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Delaware,USA, in Spring 2025. His doctoral research focused on biomedical image segmentation in low-data scenarios, with an emphasis on breast cancer detection in challenging imaging modalities such as ultrasound. His work explored the use of generative models and advanced techniques to mitigate data scarcity and improve tumor segmentation. Before transitioning to healthcare-focused research, Abdul worked as an instrumentation and sales engineer across multiple sectors in industry in Saudi Arabia. At CEDAR, he will contribute to the development of innovative tools for early cancer detection, leveraging his expertise in AI and medical imaging. He enjoys skiing, hiking, soccer, and traveling, and considers daily exercise and gym time an essential part of his routine. Abdul is enthusiastic about joining CEDAR and is passionate about making meaningful contributions that advance the center’s mission in cancer research.
